The Ruby Roman grape is a high-end Japanese cultivar believed to be the world’s most costly. According to a Business Insider article, the grape is almost four times the size of the typical grape. The colour of the rare Ruby Roman grape is particularly unique, and the growing circumstances make this fruit somewhat sweeter than usual. Only 25,000 bunches of the grape were reported to be available for purchase in 2020.


The rarity and limited availability of Ruby Roman grapes add to their premium price. According to estimates, a cluster of these grapes sold for up to USD 12,000 (Rs. 8.8 lakhs) at an auction in 2020.

Depending on the quality, a single grape may cost anywhere from USD 90 to USD 450. The quality and flavour of these premium grapes are determined by several variables, each of which is thoroughly evaluated before being sold. For these luscious and exquisite grapes to develop correctly, who must carefully regulate the quantity of light and temperature.
