WhatsApp is releasing a new beta update for iOS that allows users to restrict the ‘last seen’ status, profile photo, and About section.
For Android beta users, WhatsApp just provided new privacy features. According to WABetaInfo, the firm is already rolling out a new beta version for iOS users that will allow them to limit the ‘last seen’ status, profile photo, and About section.
WhatsApp beta version 126.96.36.199 for iOS will include the new functionality. Users will have more control over the data they disclose, thanks to the privacy feature. WhatsApp iOS beta users will have the option to hide their ‘last seen’ status from particular contacts.
According to the report, users will also be able to hide their content from individuals who don’t have the functionality. Even you will not be able to check that person’s last seen status in this instance. According to the study, if certain users can access the last seen of prohibited contacts, it is almost certainly due to a bug.
Users of the iOS beta will also hide the ‘About’ section and ‘Profile Photo’ from the app’s privacy settings. WhatsApp is also working on delivering native apps for Mac and a UWP app for Windows, according to another tip from WABetaInfo (via @ALumia Italia).
On Windows and Mac, the WhatsApp app is now only a window that opens the WhatsApp site. According to the report, the Windows version of the app is based on UWP, which means it will look identical to native Windows programmes. The Mac OS app is built on Apple’s Catalyst initiative, allowing developers to create programmes for macOS and iPad OS using the same code base.
